When Should I Start Flight Training?
There are many excellent online ground schools, but I recommend Sporty's because I used it for my private pilot training. The private pilot edition also includes the sport pilot curriculum, so you're getting a two-for-one deal.

This is a comprehensive self-study course designed for you to complete all flight and ground lesson assignments before starting your flight training. While it's highly recommended to finish these assignments ahead of time, it’s NOT mandatory.
You can choose to work on the flight and ground lessons concurrently with your flight training. However, the more you can study independently in advance, the better prepared you will be.
